New searches took place on Tuesday, July 30, in the Vosges to find Lina. The DNA profile of the teenager, who disappeared in September 2023, was found in a car whose owner committed suicide.

New development in the investigation into the disappearance of young Lina, 15, almost a year after the case began. Some 80 police officers were discreetly deployed in the Vosges on Tuesday, July 30 in the morning to find the body of the teenager. The employee of the supermarket where the young girl worked saw “seven vans” pass by.

The profile of the suspect is emerging

At the heart of the new investigations, Lina’s genetic profile was found in a stolen car spotted in the south of France. According to geolocation, the vehicle was indeed at the scene on the day the teenager disappeared. The main suspect was identified several weeks ago as the owner of the car. He committed suicide on July 10 in Besançon (Doubs), after his vehicle was seized for analysis.

Aged 43, he was due to be tried for violent robberies committed last year, and had carried out several stays in a psychiatric hospital. The general François Daoust, former director of the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie, indicates that every aspect of his life will be examined closely: “His personality, his professional career, his family…“, in order to determine his role in this affair.
