Quebec has 118 more hospitalizations linked to COVID-19

Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 continue to climb in Quebec. 118 more were reported on Monday than the day before, as well as 26 new deaths.

The increase brings the total to 2,554 inpatients, of whom 248 are in intensive care, down nine from Sunday.

Quebec officially reports 10,573 new cases, bringing the province’s death toll to 749,866 infected people and 11,966 deaths.

A total of 42,341 samples were taken on Sunday, with a positivity rate of 19.7%.

During the day on Sunday, 2,425 people received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. As for the third doses, 58,757 were administered in the province that day, for a total of 1,967,944.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, 84.9% of the population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those 12 years and over, 91.9% have received at least one dose and 89.6% are adequately vaccinated.
