Donald Trump will soon be questioned as a “victim” by the American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after being the target of an assassination attempt on July 13. The shootings resulted in the death of a participant in his fifties and injured two other people.

The investigation continues into this sensational event, which has led to a deluge of criticism aimed at the Secret Service, responsible for protecting the presidential candidate. New York Times reveals that the shooter had been spotted for the first time, an hour and a half before opening fire on the billionaire.

At 4:26 p.m. on July 13, a suspect was spotted by local police sitting on a picnic table. His behavior led to text messages that were revealed by the New York Times. “He observed our presence”an officer told his colleagues. Ninety minutes later, it was this same individual Thomas Crooks who would open fire on Donald Trump.

More than two weeks after the incident, the flaws in the security system deployed around the former president continue to appear. Thomas Crooks was often one step ahead, explains the New York Times. This 20 year old young man “highly intelligent” And “lonely”, according to the FBI, had sought to find out how far away from John Fitzgerald Kennedy was his killer Lee Harvey Oswald, in Dallas (Texas) on November 22, 1963.

One thing, however, continues to elude investigators: the precise motive for his attempted assassination remains a mystery.
