Near Montouliers in Hérault, a violent fire broke out on Monday July 29. Numerous resources were deployed to extinguish the flames.

Attacking the flames fast and hard. The Canadairs are making multiple rotations in thick black smoke. They are trying to put out a fire that is very difficult to access. The presence of a large power line complicates their maneuvers. The fire started in the middle of the day, Monday July 29, very close to the village of Montouliers in Hérault. Then the flames moved up towards the North. 50 hectares of pines and scrubland have already burned. Several hundred others are threatened. Luckily, there are no homes located nearby.

The wind is blowing at 30 km/h on extremely dry vegetation. Considerable resources have been deployed to fight the flames. “We already have more than 300 firefighters, three Canadairs, a Dash, so we are starting to have decisive and rather positive actions for us”explained General Eric Fiorès, director of the Hérault Sdis. This evening, the fire is now contained. The air resources will continue their rotation before nightfall.
