15-year-old boy arrested in Isère, suspected of posting threatening message to Israeli president on social media

A 15-year-old teenager was arrested on Saturday in Isère, suspected of being the author of a threatening message towards the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, who came to France for the opening ceremony of the Paris Games, Agence Radio France learned on Sunday July 28 from a source close to the case.

On the evening of July 21, a message posted on the social network X commented on the Israeli president’s visit to France for the opening ceremony in these terms: “A mercy attack”The following day, July 22, the Pharos platform received a report regarding this message. Late in the afternoon, the Créteil prosecutor’s office opened an investigation entrusted to the anti-terrorism group (Glat) of the Val-de-Marne departmental judicial police service (SDPJ 94).

Investigators were thus able to identify the suspect, a 15-year-old minor living in Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne) with his parents but located in Isère, on vacation in the department. The suspect, arrested in order to be questioned, is unknown to the justice system.
