While the culprits of the three high-speed rail sabotage attacks are still being sought, travellers once again had to deal with numerous delays on Saturday 27 July.

In the stations and trains, there was no need to be in a hurry on Saturday, July 27. In the East, things were back to normal. On the other hand, in the North and West, the situation is still complicated. Holidaymakers have finally arrived in Paris, but 24 hours too late: “All our trains were cancelled. We had a fallback plan that was ultimately cancelled at the last minute and we were unable to make it to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.”.

But then, who is behind the various sabotage acts on the tracks on Friday, July 26? The answer may be found in a signal box in Eure-et-Loir. Investigators have completed their findings and samples have been taken. Dozens of cables were set on fire. The arsonists seemed particularly well informed about the location and nature of the cables. For the railway workers, everything now has to be replaced and tested, and that takes time. According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, a text of demands has been sent to several media outlets. Checks are underway. The end of the disruptions is announced for Monday, July 29 in the morning.
