A suspicious letter addressed to the Ministry of the Interior is being analyzed on Saturday, July 27, franceinfo learned from a source close to the case, confirmed by the prosecutor of Dijon (Côte-d’Or). According to these two sources, this letter was discovered in the sorting center of Longvic (Côte-d’Or).

A black powder was discovered inside by the technical and scientific police, and according to initial tests carried out by a nuclear, radiological, biological, chemical and explosives (NRBC-E) unit of the police, this powder shows a slight positivity to the plague. To confirm these results, the Pasteur Institute is currently carrying out analyses, confirms the Dijon prosecutor’s office.

For the time being, the author(s) of the sending of this letter have not been identified, nor are their motives known. The Dijon Territorial Crime Division (DCT) is handling the investigation.
