Eminem dethrones Taylor Swift on Billboard 200

Eminem’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, stunning The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift, which had been there for 12 weeks.


During its first week, The Tortured Poets Department reached 891.34 million online streams in the United States, according to Luminate, a record for an album.

Swift’s album debuted at No. 1 on the chart in April and held the top spot for three months. She is the only woman to have done so; Swift broke the previous record held by Whitney Houston’s 1987 album, Whitney. It had spent its first 11 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200.

The Tortured Poets Department equaled Morgan Wallen’s album One Thing at a Timewhich also started at number one and stayed there for 12 consecutive weeks.

The only album to surpass them is Stevie Wonder’s 1976 masterpiece, Songs in the Key of LifeIt spent 13 consecutive weeks at the top after debuting at number one; 14 weeks in total.

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) is the 12the Eminem’s album and his 11e to reach first place. The Tortured Poets Department fell to 4e place this week.

In second place is K-pop boy group ENHYPEN and their album ROMANCE: UNTOLD. The Great American Bar Scene irreverent country star Zach Bryan sits in third place.
