The Seventh Moon | Into the Abyss of Evil

Among the authors of detective novels, the Italian Piergiorgio Pulixi is one of those who has hooked us since his very first title translated into French, The island of souls.

This detective novel set in Sardinia introduced us to inspectors Mara Rais and Eva Croce, while in The song of the innocentswe met the police officer and criminologist Vito Strega. These three characters joined forces in The illusion of evil and here they are investigating together again in this new title.

The four novels are part of an excellent series which, to be fully appreciated, should preferably be read in this order.

The different parts of this new story, which progress at first in parallel before converging, take us to the heavenly landscapes of Sardinia and then to the Po Valley, not far from Milan, where a young woman who has disappeared is found in a macabre setting, in every way similar to the case that occupied inspectors Rais and Croce in The island of souls.

They have been integrated into a special investigation unit led by Strega and then go there to help the local police find the culprit. Thanks to its unique characters, its gripping rhythm and an exciting plot, this thriller by Pulixi is one of the best new releases in the genre – like its predecessors.
