Five days before the opening ceremony of the Games, Friday July 26, The Minister Delegate for Transport, Patrice Vergriete, acknowledged Monday on franceinfo that traffic was going “really getting extremely complicated” in Paris. He invites residents to avoid the capital “from 10 o’clock” that day, when many restrictions are already in place on the streets.

Since July 18, a double security perimeter has been set up along the Seine for the opening ceremony: a large red zone and a more restricted gray zone. Access at the various Olympic sites and around the quays is thus conditional on the possession of a pass in the form of a QR code (except for rare exceptions, particularly for emergency vehicles).

For independent nurses, home helps, doctors, paramedical staff or carers, who often have to use a vehicle to get around, traffic restrictions can turn into a headache, or even force the postponement of certain treatments. If the Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) states that “all care services” Parisian hospitals will be “insured and accessible” During the Games, AP-HP still calls on patients to “anticipate” occasional restrictions on access and movement.

The editorial team at franceinfo.fr would like to give a voice to these health professionals and to the people who need this care. How are these new traffic conditions disrupting your daily life?
