LPGA Tour | Chanettee Wannasaen wins Dana Open by one stroke

(Sylvania) Chanettee Wannasaen captured her second career LPGA Tour title, winning the Dana Open by one stroke on Sunday.


Wannasaen birdied each of his last two holes to hold off Haeran Ryu.

Holding a three-shot lead over Ryu heading into the final round, Wannasaen shot a 4-under 67 at Highland Meadows and finished the tournament with a cumulative score of 20 under.

Wannasaen, a 20-year-old Thai, also triumphed at the Portland Classic last year.

Ryu shot a 65, also birdieing her last two holes. The South Korean had six birdies and a bogey on the back nine.

Defending champion Linn Grant of Sweden and Taiwan’s Ssu-Chia Cheng both shot 68s to share third place, six shots behind the winner.

China’s Xiyu Lin (70) and Mary Liu (69) finished the tournament with a cumulative score of minus-12, which allowed them to share fifth place.

With a round of 67, ALENA Sharp moved into a tie for 19the level to present the best Canadian result of the tournament. Her compatriots Maude-Aimée Leblanc (47e) and Maddie Szeryk (64e) also participated in the weekend rounds.
