After three days of voting by MPs in the chamber, the key positions in the National Assembly were all distributed on Saturday 20 July.

Key positions shared between the presidential camp and the right, but also a breakthrough by the left, which surprisingly obtained a majority in the National Assembly office. Since the appointment of Yaël Braun-Pivet as President of Parliament, each seat has been coveted by the opposition and tension is rising in the chamber. The position of President of the Finance Committee was won by Éric Coquerel. The latter warns that he does not intend to stay there.

Some seats were decided by votes. For Marine Le Pen, whose party did not win a single seat despite its meteoric rise, the job allocation manoeuvres betray the French people. “It’s a democratic hold-up”castigates Éric Ciotti, deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes. A union of the Ciottists and the RN finds some support in the opposition.
