In Nice, on Wednesday, July 17, seven people from the same family lost their lives in a fire. The residents of the Moulins district are in shock. Three individuals are actively being sought.

Behind the barrier tape, the burned-out building in the Moulins district of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) is inaccessible on Friday, July 19. The emotion brought together hundreds of local residents the day before. When Mayor Christian Estrosi arrived, tensions rose. Residents denounced the violence and drug trafficking.

Investigators are continuing their investigations and are focusing on the criminal lead. A surveillance video shows a car driving around the neighborhood on the night of the fire. Three men get out, break into the building, then come out a few minutes later, before the fire breaks out.

Experts have identified three fires, one on the first floor, one on the second, and one on the third, which spread to an apartment on the seventh floor. The scientific police of Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) are analyzing DNA samples and fingerprints to identify and find the perpetrators. One person was arrested and is currently in police custody.
