Pmore than 100,000 people demonstrated on Saturday January 8 against the vaccine pass. In the processions, the most radical call for violent action. For several weeks, parliamentarians have received death threats for their support of the government’s health policy.

More and more elected officials are subjected to violence from the most radical “anti-ax”. The LREM deputies are the first targeted, and more and more often threatened with death. Yaël Braun-Pivet, president (LREM) of the law committee at the National Assembly, received a threatening letter three days ago, after the vote on the vaccine pass project. “The fire is good, when you sleep (…) always look back and forth. Your bastards will also toast”, can we read there.

Also targeted by threats, Jacques Maire, deputy (LREM) of Hauts-de-Seine, is now the subject of close police protection. “We feel a wave rising”, he remarks. Since the debate on the vaccine pass project, the violence has intensified. “I’m seriously thinking about beheading you”, also received Agnès Firmin Le Bodo, Member of Parliament (Agir ensemble) for Seine-Maritime. Since January 1, 2022, 28 deputies have received death threats. In 2021, 200 similar facts were identified. The phenomenon has grown to such an extent that the government has asked the prefects to strengthen the supervision of elected officials.
