RN MP Edwige Diaz, vice-president of the National Rally, believes on Friday July 19 on franceinfo that Les Républicains “took the positions that were supposed to go to the RN”. The Gironde MP returns to the nomination of the six vice-presidents of the Assembly, from which the RN is excluded. There are two LFI vice-presidents, one Ensemble pour la République, one Horizons and two La Droite républicaine. During the previous legislature, there were two National Rally MPs.

Edwige Diaz claims that “the masks fall”. According to her, “The Republicans are not at all in the opposition but, on the contrary, they are an important component of Macron’s party”To achieve these results, the MP says there were “secret negotiations”of the “corridor discussions” notably “between the Macronists and the Republicans”.

“The Republican deputies – while there are less than 50 of them in the hemicycle and they represent 1.5 million voters – obtained two vice-presidencies thanks to the votes of the entire hemicycle” while the RN “has 143 seats and has won the confidence of 11 million voters”she insists.

These results are therefore “the demonstration that there are, within all parties except the RN, deputies who disregard the result of the ballot boxes and the internal regulations of the people’s house”says Edwige Diaz, who assures that she has “a thought for the voters of these deputies”.

As for the presidency of the Finance Committee, which will be decided on Saturday, the elected official believes that she “must return to the opposition group” and therefore to the RN. She adds that he “would be completely normal” that his party “inherits”.
