As doubts are now being expressed more openly, US President Joe Biden remains “absolutely” in the race for the White House, his campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, told MSNBC on Friday, July 19. “Joe Biden is more determined than ever to beat Donald Trump”she added.

Since his disastrous performance in his June 27 debate with Donald Trump, Joe Biden has been in turmoil, with significant reservations emerging about his physical and mental capacity to serve a second term.

“The president is the leader of our campaign and the country”she added. “He is clearly (…) the best person to take on Donald Trump”. “You’ve heard it straight from the president, over and over again: He’s running to win, he’s our candidate, and he’s going to be our president for a second term.”she insisted. Jen O’Malley Dillon, however, acknowledges that the last few weeks had been “difficult” for the campaign team.
