Russia has announced a new exchange of prisoners of war with Ukraine. “Following a negotiation process, 95 Russian servicemen, who were in danger of death in detention, returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. In return, 95 prisoners of war of the armed forces of Ukraine were returned.”the Russian Defense Ministry wrote in a statement on Wednesday, July 17.

In late June, Russia and Ukraine announced a prisoner swap involving several priests. The rare transfer of civilians followed an exchange of dozens of soldiers earlier this week. Two Ukrainian Greek Catholic priests who had been held prisoner in the Russian-occupied city of Berdiansk were returned to Ukraine through mediation by the Vatican.
