The driver who seriously injured a pedestrian on Monday in Longueuil was arrested by the police

The driver of a vehicle of the type pickup ” who hit a pedestrian Monday in Longueuil has been arrested and could face charges. The victim, aged around fifty, is still in critical condition.

The 41-year-old man could face charges of dangerous driving, said Mélanie Mercille, spokesperson for the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. Monday, on Payer Street, between Jarry and Cummings streets, right next to Gérard-Camel Park. The security perimeter that had been established during the day Monday has since been dismantled. Traffic on Payer Street has returned to normal.
