The coordinator of La France Insoumise accuses the economist, whose name was submitted by the socialists, the ecologists and the communists, of having “signed four days ago a platform in which she called for the formation of a coalition and a common program with the Macronists”.

No consensus on the candidate “from civil society”. Guest on the show “Les 4 vérités” on France 2, Tuesday July 16, the LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard judged “not serious” the idea of other members of the New Popular Front to propose climate specialist Laurence Tubiana for Matignon, because that would “get the macronists back in through the window”.

“If this is indeed the profile our partners are working on [socialistes, écologistes et communistes]I fall off my chair”, said Manuel Bompard, who accuses Laurence Tubiana of having “signed a platform four days ago [au Monde] in which she called for the formation of a coalition and a common program with the Macronists.”

“The objective is to form a government of the New Popular Front to implement the program of the New Popular Front and certainly not to prepare a coalition with the Macronists,” hammered Manuel Bompard.

Afterwards, “Each member of the National Assembly will have the responsibility to let us or not to let us implement our policy. And I challenge the members of the National Assembly, for example, to censure a government that commits to increasing the minimum wage, to increasing the index point for civil servants or to repealing the pension reform,” he added.

Manuel Bompard repeated that LFI did not wish “wasting more time in discussions that are fruitless”, to focus on “a joint application” for the presidency of the Assembly on Thursday which is “a decisive step”. “If the rebels have to give up their right to occupy this position or to propose their candidacy for the presidency of the National Assembly to allow this joint candidacy, we will be ready to do so,” he assured.
