Kansas City Royals | Quebec pitcher Louis-Philippe Langevin drafted

The Kansas City Royals selected Quebec pitcher Louis-Philippe Langevin during the fourth round of the Major League Baseball draft on Monday.


Langevin became the second Quebecer to be selected this year, after infielder Émilien Pitre, in the second round, 58e overall, by the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

A native of Quebec, Langevin played for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2024 and was named the Sun Belt Association’s pitcher of the year.

The Royals selected him with the 105th pick.e draft pick.

On Sunday, Pitre, from the University of Kentucky, became the Quebecer selected earliest in the Major League Baseball draft since 2007, when the Seattle Mariners selected pitcher Phillippe Aumont in the first round, at No. 11.e rank.
