(Ottawa) The Ottawa Senators have signed goaltender Mads Sogaard to a two-year deal.
The first year of the contract is a two-way deal, with Sogaard earning $775,000 in the NHL and $225,000 in the American Hockey League. The second year of the contract is a one-way deal, worth $775,000.
The Danish goaltender spent most of last season in the American Hockey League with the Belleville Senators. He played 32 games and won 18. He posted a 2.45 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
Sogaard, 23, also made six NHL appearances with the Senators, going 1-3-0 with a 4.05 GAA and .859 save percentage.
The Senators selected Sogaard in the second round, 37th overall.e overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
