The political transfer market is in full swing at the National Assembly. The five former “rebel” deputies of La France Insoumise will sit with the environmentalist group in the National Assembly, AFP learned on Monday, July 15, after Clémentine Autain and Cyrielle Chatelain, who should become president of the environmentalist group again during the 16th legislature. The five elected members are Clémentine Autain, Alexis Corbière, Hendrik Davi, François Ruffin and Danièle Simonnet.

“We had a common objective of creating a larger group with the communist and overseas deputies. This project could not see the light of day and we thank the ecologist and Génération.s deputies for welcoming us warmly”said Clémentine Autain. “Together we will be unifying agents of the union of the left and the ecologists, essential for building majorities in the country”added the MP for Seine-Saint-Denis.

Cyrielle Chatelain confirmed that her deputies had voted unanimously in the morning to welcome the five former rebellious elected officials into their ranks. The name of the new group has not yet been decided, she said.

Alexis Corbière, Hendrik Davi and Danièle Simonnet were among the “purged”these outgoing LFI deputies not reinvested for the legislative elections by the radical left movement, which in particular denounced a lack of “loyalty”.

Their “rebel” comrades Clémentine Autain and François Ruffin, who, like the purged, denounced a lack of internal democracy, for their part confirmed their break with La France Insoumise during these elections. On July 12, they launched their movement called “L’Après”.
