This is the second public appearance by the hugely popular Princess of Wales since last Christmas.

Kate announced in a video at the end of March that she was undergoing preventive chemotherapy for cancer. She did not specify what cancer it was.

She first reappeared in public on June 15th on the occasion of the birthday parade of King Charles III.

She then greeted the crowd from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, with the royal family.

The day before, she had announced in a message published on social networks – her first speech since announcing her illness – that she would attend this festive event because of the “good progress” of her treatment.

“As anyone undergoing chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days,” Kate wrote in the post, adding that her treatment was expected to last “for several more months.”

“I hope to be able to participate in some public engagements this summer, although I know that I am not out of the woods yet,” she added.

Her husband William, the heir to the British throne, will be in Berlin on Sunday evening to attend the Euro football final between England and Spain.
