The English fans we met in Berlin already imagine him lifting the Henri Delaunay Trophy on Sunday evening after the final. However, the Three Lions fans have no mental image to refer to, since the English captain has never won a single trophy for club or country during his career. Often close, he hopes to finally put an end to the “curse” which pursues him by winning the Euro, Sunday July 14, against Spain.

Top scorer in the Premier League three times, top scorer at the 2018 World Cup, top scorer in the Bundesliga and the Champions League last season… Harry Kane may put all his heart and talent into scoring goals, but the team trophies just don’t follow. “If I had the opportunity to trade all these individual titles for the Euro, of course I would do it.assured the attacker at a press conference on Saturday. It’s true that I’ve never won a team trophy, and every year that passes gives me even more motivation to do so. Tomorrow (Sunday), “I have the opportunity to change that and win one of the biggest titles possible, to make history for my country, to make the fans proud to be English. So of course I could leave everything I’ve achieved in my career to have a special night on Sunday.”.

Although he has never triumphed collectively, he has come close with Tottenham, finishing twice as a finalist in the League Cup, once as vice-champion of England (2017) and above all as a finalist in the Champions League (2019). But, as fate did not smile on him, he decided to join one of the most successful clubs in Europe last summer, Bayern Munich. In Bavaria, however, fate did not turn to his advantage, since Bayern, who had won the last eleven German championships, only finished 3e Bundesliga title in Kane’s first season with the club. The Bavarian club did not win any other trophies, a first since the 2011-12 season.

In England, whose last title dates back to the 1966 World Cup, the striker is no more successful. He did manage to reach the Euro final in 2021 at home, but the Three Lions suffered the terrible disappointment of losing it against Italy (1-1, 3-2 on penalties). Approaching his 31st birthday, with more than 400 goals under his belt, “Prince” Harry would now like to repair the anomaly with a title that could change his career. “I try not to think about it too much, I know what it would mean to me and to the country, you have to take it as motivation. I’m very excited about the opportunity to make a lot of people happy, including myself.”he told the media.

He will, however, have to be wary of Spaniard Dani Olmo, who deprived him of his first trophy with Bayern by scoring a hat-trick for Leipzig in the Spanish Super Cup on the Englishman’s debut with his new club. And who stated in a press conference that he “would love” replay the same trick on the Three Lions’ all-time top scorer.
