Two French-Israeli hostages are still in the hands of Hamas. The relatives of Ofer Kalderon, one of them, are doing everything they can to get him out of this hell, without even knowing if he is still alive.

A mother who can’t wait any longer. She has been hoping for the return of her children’s father for nine months. Ofer Kalderon is one of two French-Israelis held hostage by Hamas since October 7. Two of this woman’s children were also in the hands of the Islamists, like their father. They were released at the end of November. Since then, her two children have been waiting for their father, and know exactly what he is going through, even though they were not held together.

“They know that he hardly eats, that he is threatened physically and psychologically. They know these terrible conditions,” explains their mother. So that the hostages are not forgotten, their families organize symbolic marches: 60 km this week, between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, with the aim of putting pressure on the government. Of the 116 people still hostage, 42 are said to have died, according to the Israeli authorities.
