Dissidents of La France Insoumise launch their movement

They are launching the Association for an Ecological and Social Republic (L’Après). The dissidents of La France Insoumise announced the creation of their political movement on Friday, July 12. Among its members are members of parliament or former members of parliament who were excluded from Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s party, including Clémentine Autain, Alexis Corbière, Danielle Simonnet and Raquel Garrido.

This new movement aims to “cementing the New Popular Front to change policy” and allow “to the gathering of the left and the ecologists to grow and win in the country”they declared during a press briefing. The LFI dissidents assure that they are reaching out to everyone. “We are not here to upset, replace or confront I don’t know who.”hammered Alexis Corbière, re-elected in Seine-Saint-Denis. In gestation before the European elections, the establishment of the movement was precipitated by the early legislative elections.

The question is which group they will sit in the National Assembly. “We would have liked to form a joint group with the ecologists and communists, discussions continue, but if necessary, we will choose between the two”noted Alexis Corbière, not ruling out that L’Après could become a political party. The Somme MP François Ruffin did not wish to join the association for the moment. But one of his close friends who chairs his support movement, Guillaume Ancelet, is part of the L’Après board.
