Last flat stage before the passage into the high mountains. Before a very difficult weekend and a laborious third week, the riders are entitled to a more peaceful day on Friday July 12, between Agen and Pau (165.3 km), for the 13th stage of the Tour de France, and marked even before the start of the race by the abandonment of Primoz Roglic, victim of a fall on Thursday. After an intermediate sprint at kilometer 88, the peloton will have to face two small fourth category climbs in the last forty kilometers.
Although the finish line has a few small bumps that could dislodge some riders, we should still see a sprint, if the peloton manages to catch the potential breakaway. Among the favorites, we will find Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck)winner of the sprint at Saint-Amand-Montrond, the green jersey Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty), the record holder for victories in the Tour Mark Cavendish (Astana), or the Belgian Arnaud de Lie (Lotto-Dstny).
