The assault then allegedly began. “He threw her on the bed and punched her in the eye and then in the face. He started to suffocate her according to her account. She has blows absolutely all over her body,” describes Me Natacha Romano, the victim’s lawyer. Later in the night and still according to her testimony, she was then attacked by Oscar Jégou.
The complainant reportedly only managed to leave the hotel at 8:30 a.m., a scene captured by surveillance cameras. Beyond the fact that the relationship was consensual, says the lawyer for the two players, Mr. Rafael Cuneo Libarona, the image would prove that there was no violence. If the facts are proven, the rugby players face up to 20 years in prison.
