Montreal Alouettes | Marc-Antoine Dequoy replaced by Tysen-Otis Copeland due to injury

(Montreal) The shoulder injury suffered last Saturday by safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy will ultimately force him to miss Thursday’s game against the Toronto Argonauts.

Dequoy left the game in the second quarter of a 30-26 victory over the Calgary Stampeders following a fourth-quarter comeback.

Dequoy took part in the pre-match warm-up, but he preferred to give up his place.

Tysen-Otis Copeland, who is on the Alouettes’ practice roster (5-0), will replace him in the secondary against the Argos (2-2). Copeland has been used in nine games in 2023, recording six tackles on special teams.

The Alouettes are trying to win a sixth consecutive game in 2024 and a 14the in a row, including their playoff run last year.

The defending champions will then enjoy their first week off of the season, a break that comes at just the right time for the Montreal club, which has 12 players on the injured list for six games.

The last two in the running are kicker David Côté and linebacker Frédéric Chagnon, whose names were entered at the beginning of the week.
