Event | Beers, wines and spirits at the Laval Nature Center

For its eighth edition, the Laval Beer Festival, which takes place at the Laval Nature Centre, is diversifying by offering festival-goers a kiosk dedicated to Quebec wines. They will be able to discover wines from the Joy Hill Agricultural House in Frelighsburg, the Château de Cartes in Dunham, the Château Taillefer Lafon in Laval and the Foraine traveling vineyard.

Since this is primarily a beer festival, the brewing offerings are back in force with more than 40 microbreweries on site. Several newcomers to the festival will be there, including Robin – Bière naturelle from Waterloo and its barrel-aged brews, Gaspard brasserie artisanale from Boucherville and its hoppy offerings, as well as the festive Brasserie Barabas from Sainte-Barbe. Montrealers La Chope Angus, Wills, 4 Origines, L’amère à boire and Passenger Brewing Co. will also be there.

As for food, the varied offerings are likely to please all palates with, among other things, pizza kiosks (Morso), paella (Marisol), charcuterie (Fou du cochon), Portuguese food (Portugalix) and wild meats (Sapré Charles).

Over the years, the Laval Beer Festival has always strived to offer visitors a diverse program. This year is no exception, as comedians Douaa, Étienne Dano, Coco Béliveau and Alexandre Bisaillon will be on stage, while musical entertainment will be provided by Jérôme 50, Émile Bilodeau, Calamine and Gab Bouchard. In addition, conferences and tasting workshops, DJ sessions and even a meeting with a blacksmith complete the offer. Children are not left out with circus, face painting, inflatable games and iSaute trampolines.

Finally, the festival’s official beer, Festivalloise, a joint creation of the Lagabière and Les Insulaires microbreweries, will be available for tasting. It is a Mexican-inspired lime lager.
