The health of US President Joe Biden continues to be a cause for concern. With four months to go before the presidential election that will pit him against Donald Trump, the head of state running for re-election seems weaker than ever. More and more personalities are calling for his withdrawal.
A president who searches for words, his gaze often lost, and a voice barely audible. Since his failed televised debate against Donald Trump, Joe Biden has given off the image of a head of state at the end of his tether, and for some, incapable of leading the presidential campaign. Peter Welch is the first Democratic senator to have publicly called for his withdrawal: “He has to ask himself if he is the best candidate. In my opinion, he is not.”he said.
Other sometimes very influential supporters, such as Hollywood actor George Clooney, are also breaking their silence to the president’s detriment. “I like Joe Biden (…) but the only battle he can’t win is the one against time”said the American star. In recent years, the president’s physical condition has deteriorated significantly. Only his wife Jill seems to support him at all costs. But doubts about his health are not without consequences: four months before the presidential election, Joe Biden is plummeting in the polls.
