Several roads in the greater Montreal area are blocked due to heavy rainfall, complicating the return home. Among other hot — and humid — spots are highways 15, 40 and 13.
Highway 15 South (Décarie) was temporarily closed at Royalmount Avenue for an intervention due to significant accumulation of water, indicated the Quebec 511 service of the Ministry of Transport on the X network. The agency announced the reopening of the sector at 3:35 p.m.
The access ramp from 15 south to Highway 40 was also closed around 2:30 p.m.
The rain also forced the closure of Highway 15 North between Côte-St-Luc and Highway 40, as well as the area of Highway 13 North, between Hickmore Street and Highway 520.
Chemin des Moulins, under the Bonaventure highway, was also closed.
Environment Canada has issued a warning for the Island of Montreal, predicting between 50 and 80 millimetres of rain in the area. These torrential rains come in the wake of Hurricane Beryl.
