After a turbulent week, marked by the sidelining of Melvyn Jaminet following racist remarks posted on his social networks, as well as the arrest of Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou for accusations of “aggravated sexual abuse” in Argentina, the French rugby players returned to the field on Wednesday, July 10 in Montevideo. Facing Uruguay, Fabien Galthié’s men took advantage of the opponent’s indiscipline to quickly take the lead, and finally win 43-28.
After the success against Argentina on July 6 (28-13), the French XV won its second test match of this South American tour. Two doubles from Baptiste Couilloud and Posolo Tuilagi, combined with 19 points from Léo Berdeu (4 for Joris Segonds) allowed the French team to dominate the Uruguayans who also scored four tries. Now it’s time for revenge against the Pumas, Saturday July 13 at 9 p.m.
