With the start of the school holidays on Saturday, July 6, barbecue season is open. But not all French people plan to rush to the merguez and chipolatas. In 2020, 2.2% of the population said they had stopped eating meat, and 24% said they had limited their consumption, according to an Ifop survey (PDF). Animal suffering, environmental consequences, medical reasons… The reasons for adopting a vegetarian or flexitarian diet are varied. But this choice sometimes provokes a backlash.

Have you stopped eating meat, or reduced your consumption, and your loved ones reacted badly? Has your choice caused tensions at the table, during weekends with friends or family vacations? Do you live with omnivores, and are you having trouble adapting to each other’s diets? We are interested in hearing from you.
