The meeting ended in 2:10 with a final score of 7-6 and 6-3 in favor of the Quebecer.

The first round was however difficult for Félix, with his four double faults, and his nine possibilities of breakage. But he was able to turn the tide in the second encounter, with a convincing break in the penultimate game.

Canada is the third country to win the ATP Cup since its inception, after Serbia in 2020 and Russia in 2021.

“Shapo” starts strong

At the start of the night, Denis Shapovalov put Canada in a good position by winning the first game of the ATP Cup final, this time against Spain’s Pablo Carreño Busta.

The match ended in 1:40 and with a final score of 6-4, 6-3 in favor of the Canadian.

The Spaniard started off with a head start, having won four of the six encounters against Shapovalov. However, throughout the game, “Shapo” used his high-flying play and long range well to take control of the game. He was able to save eight of the nine break points, and his seven aces testify to his dominance of the game.
