Rugby players Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou are the subject of a complaint for sexual assault and have been arrested by the police in Argentina.

Images were published by the French Rugby Federation, just before the two players were arrested by the Argentine police. Oscar Jégou and Hugo Auradou are suspected of sexual assault after a woman complained. The events allegedly took place on the night of Saturday to Sunday, July 7 in the city of Mendoza after their match.

The president of the Federation arrived urgently in Buenos Aires and improvised a press conference. According to the Argentinian press, the two rugby players met the victim on Saturday evening in a nightclub. The sexual assault allegedly took place in the hotel where the Blues were staying at the time. The Argentinian prosecutor has requested the immediate arrest of the two players.

According to the plaintiff’s lawyer, the attack was extremely violent. She claims that a lot of genetic evidence was taken. Hugo Auradou plays for the Pau club. Oscar Jégou plays for the La Rochelle club. He was suspended last fall by the French Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for cocaine. The two arrested French rugby players are to be transferred from Buenos Aires to Mendosa, where the events allegedly took place.
