Moscow launches a new massive wave of strikes. Russian forces fired “more than 40 missiles” in several cities in Ukraine, causing at least 17 deaths, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced on Monday, July 8.
Russian missiles targeted the cities of kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, the Ukrainian president detailed on Telegram. “Residential buildings, infrastructure and a children’s hospital were damaged”says Volodymyr Zelensky.
Russian strikes have killed at least eight people and injured 25 in kyiv, according to a provisional report from Ukrainian emergency services, published on Telegram. In Kryvyi Rih, Russian missiles have killed at least 10 people, according to a provisional report published by the mayor of Kryvyi Rih on Telegram. “According to preliminary data, 10 people were killed, 31 injured are already in hospital”including 10 “seriously injured”wrote Oleksandr Vilkoul. At least three more people were killed in Pokrovsk, in the eastern Donetsk region, the regional governor announced on Telegram.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has posted a video on his social media showing witnesses around the ruins, which he claims are those of the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital, “one of the most important in Europe”who has “saved and cared for thousands of children”. “People are trapped under the rubble, and the exact number of injured and dead is unknown.”warns the manager, who asserts: “Russia knows where its missiles are flying, and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes.”
