Another French victory on the Tour. On the white roads of Troyes, Anthony Turgis burst forth in the final straight to claim the 9th stage of the Grande Boucle on Sunday, July 7, after catching up with the Belgian Jasper Tuyven. The TotalEnergies team rider thus signs the third French victory of this 2024 edition, a record since 2019, and above all his first career stage on the Tour de France. Tadej Pogacar retains the yellow jersey at the end of a completely crazy race marked by numerous attacks and several explanations between favorites.

The Frenchman was among the first to lead the dance on this stage punctuated by 32 kilometers of stony paths, divided into 14 sectors, leaving the peloton 153 kilometers from the peloton in the company of eight other riders. Breakaway companions from whom he separated in the sprint, to beat Briton Tom Pidcock and Canadian Derek Gee and secure the best victory of his career.
