The Ligue 1 college met on Saturday, July 6, to try to move forward on future TV rights. The sports management of Radio France, via concordant sources, learned that the club presidents were unable to decide between the two proposals put forward by LFP president Vincent Labrune.

As a reminder, two solutions were proposed: the sale of rights to the DAZN platform for an amount of 375 million euros, or the creation of a 100% Ligue 1 channel with a non-exclusive partnership already signed with Warner and its Max platform.

The clubs are generally very disappointed by these proposals, after a year of negotiations undertaken by the LFP and its president. “These are both bad options,” slips one of the actors.

The LFP also hoped to reach an agreement with the Qatari channel BeIN Sport, but the latter, which had taken a step towards an agreement, ultimately backed out, without giving reasons.
