(New York) The New York Stock Exchange opened at near-balance levels on Wednesday, coping rather well with new signs of a slowdown in the U.S. jobs market, at the start of a truncated session preceding a public holiday.
In early trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.13%, the NASDAQ Index was down 0.04% and the broader S&P 500 Index was down 0.02%. The previous day, both the NASDAQ and the S&P 500 had set new closing records.
