Band members sick | Neil Young suspends North American tour

(Toronto) Neil Young and his band Crazy Horse are taking a “major unplanned break” from their North American tour after some members of the band fell ill.

The band canceled all remaining shows on the tour Love Earth in the United States and Canada, including Ottawa Bluesfest on July 11.

A statement posted Wednesday on Neil Young’s website said some of the musicians became ill after a show in Detroit in May and have not yet fully recovered. The statement did not specify which band members became ill.

The release said the troupe will attempt to make up some of the missed dates when they are “ready to rock again.”

Neil Young & Crazy Horse had already postponed the shows scheduled for the end of May.

Ottawa Bluesfest said Thursday that anyone who purchased a ticket for the July 11 show or a “Pick 3” pass will receive more details when they become available. In a post on Facebook, the festival announced that The Offspring would replace Neil Young.
