McDavid, Matthews among finalists for NHL individual honors

Some of the NHL’s greatest players will be honored Thursday night at a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is one of three finalists for the Hart Trophy as the league’s MVP.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews will try to get his hands on the Ted Lindsay Trophy, which is awarded to the best NHL player chosen by his peers following a vote by the Players’ Association.

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes is among the finalists for the James Norris Trophy, awarded to the Bettman League’s top defenseman.

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck and Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko are finalists for the Vezina Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s top goaltender.

Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard, the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft, will be vying for the Calder Trophy, awarded to the league’s top rookie.
