“There is a little air of déjà vu”reacted Monday June 24 on franceinfo Maxime Reppert, national secretary for working conditions for the National Union of high schools, colleges, schools and higher education (Snalc), while Jordan Bardella declared wanting a “big bang of authority” at school. The president of the RN promises a ban on cell phones “in educational establishments including high schools”, “compulsory teacher registration” or “the experimentation with wearing a uniform continued” with “its establishment in primary school, but also in middle school”.

“These themes mentioned, they already are”, recalls Maxime Reppert. “The current government had already raised the question of banning cell phones, the question of authority. These are nothing new.” The Snalc representative specifies that its members are not “directors of conscience” and are interested “only to actions and ideas and not to political parties.”

But he acknowledges that there is “very symbolic political markers in this program, as in others”. “We are not fooled since these are promises, nothing more, nothing less. We do not want to hear fine words or wishful thinking”alert Maxime Reppert. “We want action.” He believes that the school “is in its most serious crisis in terms of security, crisis in terms of recruitment and attractiveness.”

The Snalc representative particularly mentions the school uniform, promised by Jordan Bardella. He believes that there is “other priorities”. He judges that “200 euros per uniform is money that we are not going to inject elsewhere when there are real priorities and concerns, if only in the insulation of our buildings.” “The uniform is not a priority as I speak to you and there are enough problems to resolve and money to find in other areas” before “think about the uniform”.

Maxime Reppert finally wishes to clarify that Snalc does not comment on “this or that” left. “We are not intended to do that.” The union wants “above all, the victory of common sense” with “the implementation of measures” claimed “for years, namely better working conditions for students and staff, to be able to get out of this real chaos in which we are currently”.
