The safe bet: Splendor and influence

Splendor and influence

Notice to binge-watchers: the first complete season of Splendor and influence is finally online. Despite a penultimate episode of “best moments” which stretches the sauce unnecessarily, this first season in the world of a fictional group of influencers met our expectations, which were nevertheless very high. The author Marc Brunet (Like me) knows the secret of home run replies, sometimes absurd, sometimes incisive, which surprise and trigger bursts of laughter. Each half hour contains several. As for the actors, Anne Dorval delivers a top-of-the-range comic performance, like the kitchen cabinets of sponsor Michaël Jarreau.

United States President Joe Biden

Americans will only be called to the polls in November, but already, CNN is organizing a first debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Without an audience, the game will take place in Atlanta and will be hosted by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. ICI RDI, which will broadcast the event, will enter special programming from 5:30 p.m. with Patrice Roy. The anchor will be surrounded by a panel of analysts including Rafael Jacob (Raoul-Dandurand Chair at UQAM), Catherine Loubier (former general delegate of Quebec in New York) and Michel C. Auger (political columnist). After the debate, the small group will comment on the strong… and weak moments. Because there will be. It’s sure and certain.

The artists who will be on stage at Maisonneuve Park, in Montreal

Twenty-four hours after Quebec, it’s Montreal’s turn to mark the national holiday by presenting its Grand Spectacle. Once again led by Pierre-Yves Lord at Maisonneuve Park, the event will bring together Claude Dubois, Roxane Bruneau, Patsy Gallant, Queenie, Daniel Lavoie, Kanen, Éléonore Lagacé, Judi Richards, Le vent du nord and FouKi. Faced with uncertain weather, we risk watching the event in our living room. Since the concert is titled A chance we have, our little finger tells us that a tribute to Jean-Pierre Ferland is planned. For those who missed the Plains of Abraham show on Sunday, note that it will be repeated on Télé-Québec on Monday at 6 p.m.
