An investigation is opened for “public insult due to origin, ethnicity, nation, race or religion” after the filing of a complaint this Sunday by a Renaissance candidate in the legislative elections in Val-de-Marne for racist insult, indicated the Créteil prosecutor’s office requested by franceinfo.

Shannon Seban claims in a statement that she has been repeatedly called “dirty Zionist” on the sidelines of a popular festival on Sunday in Ivry-sur-Seine. Also elected municipal in Rosny-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis), Shannon Seban recounted having been attacked, first by two men displaying a Palestinian flag, then by a crowd she estimates at several dozen people.

She claims to have heard people screaming “Get out, dirty Zionist… genocidal… child killer… you are not at home“. She finally indicates that she had to “leave the premises to protect yourself“, she explains.

The Créteil public prosecutor’s office entrusted the investigation to the Brigade for the Repression of Delinquency Against the Person (BRDP).
