A second match where we must already confirm. It is almost in the same state of mind that Turkey, Portugal, Romania, Belgium and in particular the Czech Republic present themselves, Saturday June 22, for their second meeting in the group stages of the Euro.

In group F, the first two teams and the last two in the provisional ranking will face each other while in group E, Belgium will want to erase its failed entry, facing a well-launched Romanian selection.

The poster not to be missed: Türkiye-Portugal (6 p.m.)

In this remake of the quarter-final of Euro 2000, will Portugal emerge victorious again? For what is the sixth, and probably last, Euro of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Seleçao players can rely on an impressive offensive armada. But they remained silent against the Czech Republic, Francisco Conceiçao’s goal in added time saving them from a misstep.

The Turkish selection also struggled to get rid of Georgia (3-1). But his domination and the magnificent goals, behind the rising star of Real Madrid, Arda Güler, give us hope of seeing further. Driven by their diaspora, very present in the aisles of German stadiums, the Turks have the same objective as the Lusitanians: to win to validate qualification for the round of 16.

The team to watch: Romania wants to confirm against Belgium (9 p.m.)

In Cologne, the Red Devils will face a confident Romanian selection, five days after their remarkable debut. Faced with a struggling Ukrainian selection, the playersEdward Iordanescu demonstrated all their offensive qualities (3-0). Dennis Man, the Parma striker and double passer during this first match, will be particularly scrutinized. If successful, the Romanians will exit the Euro groups for the first time since 2000.

The Belgians, quarter-finalists in 2021, will therefore have a lot to do to forget their initial fall, against modest Slovakia. While they were undefeated since the 2022 World Cup, the Belgians have always “hunger” ensured their securitydirector, Domenico Tedesco.

The match away from the spotlight: Georgia-Czech Republic (3 p.m.)

Despite opportunities, the Georgians did not achieve the feat of defeating Turkey in the first match. But the men of Frenchman Willy Sagnol, combative, showed great offensive qualities. We will have to do even better in front of a Czech defense which was particularly solid during the first day, to the point of making the Portuguese hesitate (2-1).

Quarter-finalist four times, including during the last Euro, the Czech Republic seems capable of progressing beyond the group stages, thanks in particular to its center forward Patrik Schick.
