The candidate of the National Rally (RN) in the 6th constituency of Loiret, Anthony Zeller, contacted the party’s conflicts commission this Thursday, reports France Bleu Orléans. The alternate candidate, Jean-Pierre Templier, aged 70, published messages with racist, sexist and anti-Semitic content on social networks.

The vice-president of the RN conflicts commission and candidate in Loiret, Jean-Lin Lacapelle, confirms that proceedings will be initiated against the retiree. At the end of the procedure, Jean-Pierre Templier will remain Anthony Zeller’s deputy since the applications have already been validated by the Loiret prefecture.

Opposing the far-right party candidate are the outgoing MoDem deputy Richard Ramos, an LR candidate Jean-Luc Poisson and the socialist Christophe Lavialle under the label of the New Popular Front.

On Wednesday June 19, France Bleu Orléans revealed in an article the content of Jean-Pierre Templier’s remarks. The septuagenarian, a former taxi driver, has accumulated racist, sexist and anti-Semitic allusions and insults in recent years on Facebook. He had already been a candidate in the departmental elections in 2021. He had also been the deputy of Carla Boubekeur (RN) in the legislative elections of 2022.

The National Rally has already withdrawn its support for one of its candidates in Morbihan, Joseph Martin, for having published an anti-Semitic message on social networks in 2018.
