A mobile grocery store travels through the villages of Lot-et-Garonne to distribute baskets at low prices. Everything is at a single price of 60 cents per kilo.

To explore Lot-et-Garonne to meet precarious families, this is the objective of Thierry, a former civil servant, now at the wheel of this mobile solidarity grocery store. “Going to the villages is interesting, there is also a very human side”, he rejoices. That day, he stopped in a small village of 200 people with no shops. Fruits, drinks, prepared meals… Whatever the product, one price: 60 cents per kilo.

To benefit from these rates, you must have a modest income, a maximum of 1,600 euros per month, and pay a contribution of 10 euros per month. Products are provided by the food bank. The fruits and vegetables are mostly organic and local.

Across seven municipalities in the department, more than 300 people are already benefiting from this initiative managed by communities and financed by the State. A second bus could soon see the light of day.
