Célia Viale, co-president of the victims association Promenade des Anges, “can’t be satisfied” of the sentences handed down by the special assize court of Paris against the two accused tried on appeal in the trial of the Nice attack. “I don’t see any satisfaction in seeing two people serve 18 years in prison,” she explains on Friday June 14 on Franceinfo.

“In addition, the defense had worked the case really well and managed to put doubts in my mind. It’s quite a special feeling to live with that, but I think I’m going to have to do it,” she adds. The court confirmed the sentences handed down at first instance against Mohamed Ghraieb and Chokri Chafroud, prosecuted for terrorist criminal association, by adding the security period.

The Promenade des Anges association “also regrets that the investigation was not able to clarify gray areas”indicates Célia Viale. “There are characters who gravitated around the terrorist who, in my opinion and in the opinion of several other victims, could have been with these two accused in the boxes,” she points.
