According to MotorsportF1 CEO Stefano Domenicali apologized to the teams after the various failures during the last F1 Grand Prix presented in Montreal.
The sticking points obviously did not fail to make headlines off the slopes. The specialist magazine first cites a breakdown in communication between the circuit and the police which prevented team members and spectators from accessing the site on Friday and Saturday.
The authorities have in fact blocked certain access points due to congestion on Notre-Dame Island.
Among the other issues raised, there was the flooding of certain reception units and television broadcasting areas during the episode of heavy rain and hail. The VIP parking lots were also transformed into mud pools by the rain.
We must also add the bad information relayed by the STM to the effect that Friday’s free practice had been canceled due to rain. Another point of contention: the supporters who invaded the track after the end of the race, apparently a recurring issue.
Motorsport clarified that promoter Octane received criticism from the FIA. In particular, he is asked to review the management of access points, and to improve the paddocks and certain infrastructures, among other things.
